Job Description:
- The Tool Crib Technician is responsible for performing technical duties associated with SCMF Production tool crib.
Responsibilities:
- Polish Tooling using a lathe
- Mold various parts for Robot End of Arm tooling
- Operate 3D Printers
- Maintain tooling inventory for production manufacturing
- Use Work Order Travelers to stage tooling for production
- Maintain Production tools and equipment
- Dimensionally inspect diameters of parts
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnose assemblies for defects and repair
- Rebuild mechanical assemblies
- Ensure ability to: read blueprints and identify components
- Maintain critical spare inventory for production facility equipment, employee performs regular inventory counts
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Additional Responsibilities
- Operate surface grinder to resurface scarred tooling
- Operate hydraulic press for press fit assemblies
Experience and Skills
- No prior tool crib experience required
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are important
Training
- Training conducted on 1st shift before transitioning to 3rd shift
- NEST training completed in Houston area
Certifications
- TWIC card is helpful for faster ATF processing, but not a requirement
- Tool crib at client functions more like an inventory warehouse than a traditional tool checkout station
